Can Pastilla is the closest resort to the city of Palma, just 2km away from Palma International Airport, so transfers to the resort are super-quick, usually taking only ten minutes or so.

This fairly quiet (apart from some aircraft noise) resort shares a glorious stretch of beach along the south coast with neighbouring resorts Playa de Palma and El Arenal, both of which are within walking distance. Can Pastilla is a laid-back resort, and is suited to relaxing holidays, in comparison with neighbouring El Arenal which is much more lively, particularly at night time.

The beach here slopes gently into the sea, which is clear and warm, and has amenities such as toilets, showers and snack bars dotted at regular intervals along the entire stretch of beach. These are in the form of numbered huts known as Balnearios which are dotted along the whole stretch of the Playa de Palma. You will also find plenty of sunbeds and parasols for hire, as well as watersports such as pedaloes, windsurfing etc.

Like many of Majorca's resorts, Can Pastilla has evolved from a small fishing village into a well-established holiday resort with all the amenities. There is still a flavour of authentic Mallorca though - winding, narrow streets and a pretty parish church, Church of Sant Antonio de la Playa. The resort also has a pretty marina, Club Maritimo San Antonio de la Playa, usually full of bobbing boats and yachts.

Can Pastilla is well served by a good array of bars, restaurants and cafes serving everything from local Mallorcan cuisine and seafood to international options and pub grub.

Holidaymakers will find a wealth of accommodation options in Can Pastilla, everything from luxury villas and five star hotels, through to budget accommodation and self-catering apartments.

You'll find a good selection of shops too, selling everything from beachwear, beach accessories and clothing, to leather goods, souvenirs and local crafts.

This relaxed resort is suitable for family holidays, and is popular with British tourists and ex-pats. It's a quietish resort, less boisterous than neighbouring El Arenal which tends to attract young holidaymakers and 18-30s. If you fancy a change, you can walk or cycle to neighbouring resorts quite easily, or alternatively why not jump on the tourist mini-train which runs from Can Pastilla to El Arenal, passing through Playa de Palma.

This is an ideal place to stay on holiday if you want to experience the delights of Majorca's capital city, with Palma just a short drive away.

One thing to note about Can Pastilla is of course, being so close to the airport, there is some noise from aircraft particularly in the western side of the resort.

“For relaxing family beach holidays, you needn't look further than Can Pastilla, just 2km from Palma airport, with sandy beach, marina and a short walk from neighbouring Playa de Palma.”
