Ca'n Picafort is a laid-back sun-lovers resort on the east coast of Majorca. Set at the eastern end of the Bay of Alcudia, it has a fantastic, clean beach with safe, clear waters, making it an excellent choice for families and sun-seeking holiday makers of all ages.
Can Picafort is located in the north east of the island, within the municipal district of Santa Margalida, and the town of Santa Margalida is approximately 10km away inland. It is about 62km (about 38 miles) from Palma Airport, and the transfer time from airport to the resort is generally around 1.5 hours, depending on traffic.
Can Picafort is a resort with a very chilled out atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. The resort has a fabulous 3km stretch of beach, a small fishing harbour and marina, and a long, spacious beachside promenade lined with cocktail bars and restaurants. The region of Santa Margalida has over 150 officially recognised archaeological sites, many of which are pre-Roman.
There are plenty of shops of all kinds along the seafront promenade, and in the surrounding streets of Can Picafort, so there's always something or other to capture your interest as you stroll along in the sunshine. There are also street markets on Tuesdays and Fridays.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants in Can Picafort serving up all kinds of international fare, from traditional Spanish dishes to full English breakfasts and fast food, you can find whatever you fancy. Can Picafort attracts many German visitors, and this is reflected in the number of German bars and restaurants around the resort.
There are plenty of bars to choose from in Can Picafort, including some fabulous cocktail bars along the seafront promenade, where you can sip a pina colada (or whatever you fancy) and take in the gorgeous views out over the sea to the Cabo del Pinar headland.
It is truly relaxing - you know you're on holiday when you're in Can Picafort, it's so chilled out! There are a couple of nightclubs in the town for those wishing to live it up all night, but on the whole the nightlife is laid back - this is no Magaluf!
As well as the numerous watersports available in Can Picafort, there are boat trips several times a day, leaving from the harbour. Or, of you fancy a change of scenery, you can take a bus from Can Picafort to Puerto Alcudia along the coast road, via Playa de Muro.
