Palma Nova attracts many families year after year, no doubt due to its impressive beach and facilities. The upbeat, friendly vibe and huge selection of bars and restaurants makes Palma Nova a mecca for sun lovers and party-goers alike: there is plenty going on here yet the pace is a little gentler than neighbouring Magaluf. There is one all-night disco, althought Magaluf is a short walk away, and the place to go for clubbing holidays. That said, nightlife in Palma Nova is upbeat and lively, with a great choice from music bars and discos to family entertainment such as cabaret, karaoke and bingo. There are plenty of English, Irish and Scottish bars here, reflecting the popularity of the resort with British holidaymakers.
There are three beaches in Palma Nova: the main, central beach, Playa de Palma Nova, which tends to be the busiest. Here there are plenty of facilities such as sun loungers and parasols for hire, and all kinds of watersports facilities. Playa des Carregador and Son Matias beaches are a little quieter. All have Blue Flag status, and are clean, tidy, and well-equipped, with fine white sands. The shoreline slopes very gently into the sea which is clear and clean. There is also a small marina.
Palma Nova is a superb destination for watersports fans - active holidays start here, with all kinds on offer from windsurfing to banana boats, pedaloes to jet-skiing. There are also countless boat trips available, including glass bottomed boats.
For eating out, you're spoiled for choice in Palma Nova, with every imaginable international cuisine on offer, from traditional Mallorcan to fast food, and everything inbetween!
The resort enjoys a pretty promenade along the seafront, lined with shops, bars and restaurants. You can buy all kinds of swimwear, beach accessories, souvenirs, crafts, leather goods and gifts. There is no street market here, but you can take a bus to Andratx market, which is held each Wednesday morning.
The resort has a huge selection of holiday accommodation to choose from : everything from budget self catering rooms to all-inclusive luxury and private villas.
