Relax and unwind in one of Majorca's most chilled beach resorts.

S'IllotS'Illot Map

S'Illot is situated on the east coast of Majorca, within the municipal district of Sant Lloren des Cardassar. The resort is approximately 65km (about 40miles) from Palma and the airport, with transfers taking anything up to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

Quieter than neighbouring Sa Coma, S'illot is a very pleasant beach resort, with just enough amenities for a relaxing holiday. The resort has a lovely promenade that runs right through it, lined with palm trees, and with a fair selection of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops.

The beach at S'Illot is very pretty, with soft sands and very calm, warm waters that lap gently. There are plenty of facilities such as sunbeds and parasols for hire, and a choice of watersports. You'll find pedaloes and banana boats, plus windsurfing and other activities.

The pace of life (including the nightlife) is laid back and relaxed - there are few lively bars here, with evening entertainment mainly provided by the hotels.

Once a small fishing village, S'Illot has evolved to cater for tourists, yet still retains that traditional Mallorcan feel, perhaps in part due to the well-controlled pace of development in the area. To this day, you can still see working fishing boats in and around the fishing port area near the beach at S'Illot.

There are several green zones around the village, some of which are classed as areas of special environmental interest, notably, the Punta de n'Amer headland.

For a change of scenery, consider visiting the neighbouring resorts of Cala Millor or Sa Coma, or perhaps a trip further afield to Palma, all served by buses from S'Illot, although the bus timetables on this part of the island can be unreliable! Although there once was a railway line in the east of Majorca, it no longer remains.
