Valldemossa is a secluded, quaint Majorcan village, tucked away in the heart of the stunning Serra Tramuntana mountain range in the north-west of the island. The village is inland, about a mile from the west coast of the island, and offers spectacular views out over the sea.

Just 20 km from Palma airport, the village is a quiet and relaxed place with a small resident population, popular with holiday makers looking for a peaceful base for exploring the area. This area attracts many walkers, climbers and cyclists, and many routes are directly accessible from Valldemossa.

Relatively undiscovered as a holiday destination, Valldemossa is known to independant travellers for its beautiful setting amongst an area of spectacular natural beauty, with a backdrop of mountains and countryside all around. The village also attracts a great number of day-trippers who travel here by tour bus.

The village is charming and pretty, with cobbled narrow old streets that wind and twist surprisingly. There are a number of friendly cafes and restaurants where you can sample the delights of local cuisine and hospitality.

Valldemossa has a number of winding pathways, ideal for rambling through the wooded hillsides. Walkers are rewarded with fantastic views over the Mediterranean sea.

The village has plenty of ancient architecture and historical significance and attracts day-trippers to its monastery, church and palace Palau de rei Sanxo.
